Zunächst ein kleiner Vorspann: Am vergangenen 22. Dezember veröffentlichte die französische Agentur für die Überwachung der Medikamentensicherheit eine Warnung vor der Verwendung von Baclofen zur Behandlung von Ess-Störungen wie z.B. Binge-Eating oder Bulimie.
Gegen diesen Warnhinweis wendeten sich die uns bereits bekannten französischen Patienten- und Ärztevereinigungen in einem offenen Brief. Ich übersetze das jetzt nicht alles, die Initianten bedauern jedenfalls, dass sich nun offenbar die gleiche bedauerliche Prozedur wie damals bei der Baclofen-Behandlung der Alkoholabhängigkeit wiederhole, „wo es doch angezeigt wäre, die Sache von einem wissenschaftlichen Standpunkt aus zu betrachten.“

Ich kann das jetzt nicht alles analysieren und deshalb auch keine Meinung dazu abgeben, sicher sollte man das aber im Auge behalten und das wird von „den Franzosen“ mit Sicherheit auch getan werden. Vieles deutet jedenfalls darauf hin, dass Baclofen eine gute Alternative bei der Behandlung solcher Ess-Störungen sein könnte.
